Institutional Accreditation

Sullivan University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award associate, baccalaureate, masters and doctorate degrees. Sullivan University also may offer credentials such as certificates and diplomas at approved degree levels. Licensure, Programmatic Accreditation, and Approvals

Sullivan University is licensed by the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education.

Sullivan University has been approved by Kentucky to participate in the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements. NC-SARA is a voluntary, regional approach to state oversight of postsecondary distance education.

Associate of Science in Health Information Management

Sullivan University’s Associate of Science in Health Information Management program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM), 233 N. Michigan Avenue, 21st Floor, Chicago, IL 60601-5800.

Medical Assistant Diploma

Sullivan University's Medical Assistant Diploma program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (www.caahep.org) upon the recommendation of the Medical Assisting Educational Review Board (MAERB).

Doctor of Pharmacy

Sullivan University’s Doctor of Pharmacy program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), 190 S. LaSalle Street, Suite 2850, Chicago, IL 60603-3410.

College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences

The Sullivan University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.

Pharmacy Technician

The Pharmacy Technician training program is accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists/Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ASHP/ACPE).

Physician Assistant

The Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) has granted Accreditation-Continued status to the Sullivan University Physician Assistant program sponsored by Sullivan University. Accreditation-Continued is an accreditation status granted when a currently accredited program is in compliance with the ARC-PA Standards. Accreditation remains in effect until the program closes or withdraws from the accreditation process or until accreditation is withdrawn for failure to comply with the Standards. The approximate date for the next validation review of the program by the ARC-PA will be March 2028. The review date is contingent upon continued compliance with the Accreditation Standards and ARC-PA policy

Limited Medical Radiography Diploma and the Associate of Science in Radiologic Technology programs

Sullivan University’s Limited Medical Radiography Diploma and the Associate of Science in Radiologic Technology programs are approved by the Kentucky Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (KBMIRT).

Radiologic Technology

Sullivan University’s Associate of Science in Radiologic Technology program is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).

Surgical Technology

The Surgical Technology program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), upon recommendation of the Accreditation Review Council on Education in Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (ARC-ST/SA). In 2017 CAAHEP awarded the Sullivan University (formally Spencerian College) Surgical Technology Program continuing accreditation through the years of 2017 - 2027. Graduates of this program are eligible to sit for the Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) exam.

The ARC/STSA®; is the only CAAHEP-recognized Committee on Accreditation for education programs in surgical technology and surgical assisting. The ARC/STSA is a private 501 (c)(3) non-profit accreditation services body providing national recognition for higher education programs in surgical technology and surgical assisting, in collaboration with the Commission on Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), in order to promote quality surgical patient care through quality education.
