The Sullivan University College of Nursing aims to educate, inspire, and prepare individuals to become nursing professionals. The College of Nursing is one of the five colleges of Sullivan University. It is approved by the Kentucky Board of Nursing in addition to the University’s SACSCOC accreditation.

Sullivan University’s Nursing program prepares students for a career in nursing by providing comprehensive instruction from experienced faculty. The curriculum combines immersive hands-on experiences, contemporary theoretical knowledge, and clinical opportunities. Graduates gain the skills and competencies necessary to successfully complete the NCLEX.

Applicants must meet the requirements for at least one of the following to gain admission to the university.

Progression information

All courses require a C or better for successful completion. Core courses (NUR) require a minimum 78% C, and General Education courses (BIO, CHM, ENG, MTH, PSY, and SOC) require a minimum 70% C.


The A.S. in Nursing contains 429 clinical hours and 352 skills lab hours. Students may not receive payment/reimbursement of any type for clinical and/or practicum hours required in their academic program. Students may also not perform these clinical and/or practicum hours with their employer in the capacity of their regular position. All nursing classes are held on campus, and many require clinical and/or lab skills training. Students may need to purchase additional software required for a specific course.


The Kentucky Board of Nursing requires that all criminal convictions (misdemeanors and felonies) be reported at the time of application for licensure. The Board may deny a license to practice nursing to an individual with a criminal conviction.

A.S. Nursing PN to ASN

Admissions information

Applicants must meet the following requirements to gain admission to the university.


Licensure Requirements

Must also have an active and unencumbered Kentucky or multi-state LPN license.


HESI/Mobility Testing

Minimum Score Required: 750

Maximum 3 attempts

The MT requirement will be waived for a Sullivan University PN graduate who has successfully passed the NCLEX and is an LPN.


Progression information

The LPN/Bridge A.S. in Nursing contains 396 clinical hours and 286 skills lab hours.
