BIOGRAPHY

Dr. David Cleary obtained his A.D. in Electronic Engineering from the Kentucky College of Technology in 1985, his B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Louisville in 2000 (summa cum laude), and his M.S. and Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Louisville in 2005 and 2007, respectively. Dr. Cleary began his career as an educator in 1986 with National Education Center. He received certification as a Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician from the International Certification Commission in 1993. During his tenure at the University of Louisville, Dr. Cleary performed graduate research, focusing on the study of kinetics between blood coagulation factors and their substrates. He has published five articles, presented twelve posters, and has served as an instructor at RETS and the National Education Center, as well as assistant instructor and also lecturer at the University of Louisville. He joined the Sullivan University College of Pharmacy during its inception in 2007 and teaches primarily biochemistry and medicinal chemistry. He received the Outstanding Achievement in Chemistry Award in 2001 from the American Chemical Association. He received a first place poster prize in 2003 from the Institute for Molecular Diversity and Drug Design, and a second place poster prize in 2001 from the Kentuckiana Undergraduate Research Symposium. He was a Graduate Chemistry Fellow from 2001-2002 at the University of Louisville and served as the president of the Chemistry Graduate Student Association in 2003.
