Partnership funding assistance

Sullivan University has partnered with select companies, associations, and organizations to offer tuition discounts as a special benefit to their employees or members. Talk with your HR department or reach out to our admissions team to see if an employer discount is available to you.

Thanks to a partnership between Sullivan University’s Louisville campus and the United Parcel Service, students who are able and willing to work part-time can receive substantial financial assistance for tuition and other expenses. Contact our admissions team for more details.

Federal & state funding assistance

Active military and veteran personnel have access to military benefits designed to support your education. Additional scholarships or tuition assistance programs may apply. Speak with the financial aid team for more information.

The Work Ready Kentucky Scholarship offers tuition assistance to Kentuckians of all ages, helping them pursue education and training in fields with abundant job opportunities. This scholarship is available for certificate and diploma programs in Kentucky’s top five high-demand sectors for those who haven’t yet earned an associate’s degree or higher.

Federal and state grants are awarded based on financial need and on a first-come, first-serve basis. Like scholarships, they don’t need to be repaid.

Federal Pell Grants are available to those who are eligible by demonstrating financial need. Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants are for students with exceptional need.

State grants, including the Kentucky Tuition Grant and College Access Program Grant, are also available. Get in touch with our admissions team for more information.

All students are encouraged to complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to apply for federal grants and other assistance. Your financial aid coordinator will meet with you to discuss your eligibility once your FAFSA is received.

The Department of Education opens the FAFSA application every year on October 1. Because some funding is limited, we recommend filing your FAFSA as soon as possible to maximize funding eligibility. You may need your last two tax returns when completing your FAFSA.

Loans are available from the federal government and other sources for students who qualify. Some of the most popular student loan programs include:

  • Direct Subsidized Loan: This program offers low-interest loans to students who show financial need. First-year students can borrow up to $3,500. Second-year students can borrow up to $4,500. For the third year and beyond, up to $5,500 per year is the borrowing limit.

  • Direct Unsubsidized Loan: This program provides low-interest loans to students, regardless of financial need.

  • Federal PLUS Loans: These loans are available to parents of dependent undergraduate students to help cover college costs. Graduate and professional students can also take out PLUS loans to fund their educations.

If you’d like to learn more about your loan options, talk with an admissions advisor today for an appointment with a financial aid coordinator.
