_{The Sullivan University System (SUS) 2016 Faculty Retreat will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at the iconic Churchill Downs.} 

_{The SUS Faculty Retreat Committee is issuing our distinguished faculty a call for proposals to be presented at the retreat this year.}

_{Topics might include but are in no way limited to:} 

• _{First generation student success}
• _{Motivation of students and classroom management strategies}
• _{Retention strategies}
• _{College students and community engagement}
• _{Strategies for handling learning differences in the classroom}
• _{Effects of healthcare reform on education in medical fields}
• _{How to foster professionalism}
• _{Strategies for reducing faculty burnout}
• _{Test construction strategies and/or dealing with test anxiety in students}
• _{Strategies for small and large group interaction}
• _{Best practices in responding to plagiarism and academic dishonesty}
• _{Best practices for the use and creation of scoring guides and rubrics}
• _{Wellness training}
• _{Use of social media and technology in the classroom and basic tips on HOW to use them}

_{Proposal Submission requirements:}

• _{All submissions must be submitted electronically using the submission form on the Faculty Retreat web site: https://sullivan.edu/facultyretreat/}
• _{Submissions will be peer-reviewed by SUS Faculty Retreat Submissions Subcommittee.  Proposals will be evaluated on applicability, relevance, creativity, practicality.}
• _{Accepted submissions may be published on the SU Faculty Retreat web page.}
