DR. ABEER M. AL-GHANANEEM NAMED TO AACP 2014 ACADEMIC LEADERSHIP FELLOWS

Thirty pharmacy educators have been selected for the next cohort of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy’s Academic Leadership Fellows Program (ALFP). Now in its 11th year, the program is designed to develop the nation’s most promising pharmacy faculty for roles as future leaders in pharmacy education and beyond. The 2014-2015 fellows include Sullivan University’s Dr. Abeer M. Al-Ghananeem.

ALFP is a yearlong experience with four intensive sessions in residence spread throughout the year, supported by an ongoing informal program of mentoring and introduction to leadership roles at the home institution. The four-session program includes in-depth leadership development; team building; exploration of legislative and public policy issues critical to pharmaceutical and higher education; and self and peer assessments. In addition to the four sessions in residence, fellows participate in a collaborative group project.

About AACP: Founded in 1900, AACP is the national organization representing the interests of pharmacy education. AACP is comprised of all accredited colleges and schools with pharmacy degree programs accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education, including more than 6,500 faculty, 62,500 students enrolled in professional programs and 5,100 individuals pursuing graduate study.
