Biography

Julie Harting, Pharm.D., BCIDP, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Clinical and Administrative Sciences at Sullivan University College of Pharmacy. She is a Clinical Pharmacist Specialist (Infectious Disease) at University Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky where she is a team member of the Bone & Joint Infectious Disease service, a multidisciplinary team that manages patients in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. At the hospital, she assists with hospital-wide stewardship efforts including contributions to the SubCommittee for Antimicrobial Stewardship. In addition, Dr. Harting is a Faculty member with the University of Louisville Division of Infectious Disease and has collaborated on clinical research projects primarily focusing on bone and joint infections. This affiliation also created an opportunity for academic lectures to the University of Louisville Internal Medicine Residency Program as part of the Louisville Lectures series. Dr. Harting completed her Infectious Disease PGY-2 residency training in 2009 and a Making a Difference in Infectious Disease (MAD-ID) Antimicrobial Stewardship Certification in 2010. She has pursued professional advancement through research and creation of CE modules in antimicrobial stewardship, skin and soft tissue infections, and bone and joint infections.
