Christen Schenkenfelder is a native of Louisville. In 2005, Christen received a Bachelor of Science in Communication and in 2009 received a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics, both from the University of Kentucky. As an intern in the dietetics program, she developed nutrition guides that were published through the University of Kentucky Extension Office, as well as presented food safety tips for a local news station.
Christen has been working as a certified pharmacy technician since 2005. In 2011, she was asked to sit on a board of selected individuals for National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) to determine knowledge levels for students entering the pharmacy technician field.
Christen is an original member of the Kentucky Pharmacist Association (KPhA) Pharmacy Technician Academy and serves as director #1 in the academy. She also served on the board of directors for Kentucky Society for Health-System Pharmacies (KSHP) as one of two pharmacy technician representatives for the state. As part of both organizations, she has planned conferences with up to eight hours of continual education for pharmacy technicians. Christen is also a member of national organizations that include the National Pharmacy Technician Association (NPTA) and Pharmacy Technician Educators Council (PTEC). Christen has been enjoying her position as instructor and director of the Pharmacy Technician program at Sullivan University since 2011.
