Acceptable Progress toward Degree

Students in the Ph.D. program are expected to maintain continuous enrollment throughout the year until they complete their coursework. Students who wish to take a leave of absence from the program must submit a request for leave of absence to the Dean of the Graduate School. Maintenance of a minimum GPA of 3.0 is required to continue in the program. A student who Ph.D. Policies & Procedures Page 28 maintains a GPA of less than 3.0 for more than two quarters may be dismissed from the Ph.D. program. A student who fails to meet expectations at time of the first-year review may also be dismissed from the program.
