American Pharmacists Association National Patient Counseling Competition

Each year during the American Pharmacists Association (APhA) Meeting and Exposition, student representatives from each College or School of Pharmacy in the country compete against all other participants for the honor of being chosen as the National Patient Counseling Competition Winner.

The road to the competition begins with the students' participation in his or her local Patient Counseling Competition and being chosen as their respective institution's representative. It culminates with the selection of the National Patient Counseling Competition Winner during the APhA Annual Meeting and Exposition, which is held in March of each year.

Graduation Photo On the heels of our first Annual Bluegrass Gala celebrating the Sullivan University College of Pharmacy Inaugural Class of 2011, we held our first graduation ceremony for the 67 students in the Class of 2011 on June 11, 2011 at the Block Auditorium at Southeast Christian Church in Louisville, Kentucky. On June 30, 2011, we welcomed our Fourth Class of 104 new students, the Class of 2014, with 70% of the students coming to us from the Commonwealth of Kentucky and 30% out of state. We have hired seven new faculty, three of which were our residents last year who chose to stay as faculty. We have also expanded our residency program to include five new residents in collaboration with different partnerships in Louisville.

Finally, we received communication this week from the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education that their Board of Directors has granted FULL ACCREDITATION STATUS for our Doctor of Pharmacy program!! Therefore, the Sullivan University College of Pharmacy is now fully accredited and we would like to share this achievement with all of you. We thank you for your continued support of our program and our students in their educational endeavors.
