Biography
Dr. Smith obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Kentucky in 2005, following graduation he resumed his studies leading to a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Kentucky, College of Pharmacy. His passions lie between both biology and chemistry leading to a synthetic approach in uncovering complex key biosynthetic transformations involved in the formation of gilvocarcin, an angucycline antitumor agent.
Dr. Smith is currently teaching medicinal chemistry awarding the opportunity to convey his scientific passions to the student body of SUCOP.
