Biography

Dr. Facione received his B.S. in Pharmacy from Wayne State University, Detroit, MI in 1962 and his Master's and Ph.D. in Pharmacetucial Administration from Wayne State in 1974 and 1982 respectively where he was Assistant Professor of Pharmacy and served as Director of Admissions and Coordinator of Student Affairs for the College of Pharmacy and Allied Health, the Faculty of Pharmacy until 1990. Prior to joining the College of Pharmacy at Sullivan University as Associate Professor and Assistant Dean of Student Affairs in 2007, Dr. Facione served as Rector of a congregation of the North American Old Roman Catholic Church in Louisville, Kentucky. He was ordained to the priesthood in 1974 shortly before receiving his Master's degree.Dr. Facione has some 46 years of professional and academic experience with numerous presentations and publications in pharmacy and practiced in both community and hospital settings. While at Wayne State, he served as Chair of the Internship Commission of the Michigan Board of Pharmacy. He is a Brother of Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity and served in various capacities in the Fraternity including a term on the National Executive Committee and as Editor of the Mask of Kappa Psi. Dr. Facione's research interests include legal and ethical issues relating to pharmacy practice as well as problems and innovations in the delivery of health care.
