Biography
Dr. Esposito received her B.A. (2001) from Bellarmine University and her M.S. from the University of Louisville (2006). Most recently, she received her Ph.D. (2008) from the University of Louisville where she worked in both the Pharmacology and Toxicology department and the department of Molecular, Cellular, and Craniofacial Biology located in the University’s Birth Defects Center. For over seven years, Dr. Esposito worked on numerous research projects including, the identification of novel cellular binding proteins, investigation of nuclear coactivators in embryonic orofacial tissue, effects of cigarette smoke on embryonic and fetal development in vivo and the study of toxic effects of cigarette smoke in vitro. Details of her research are found in over 10 publications and have been presented at the Society for Research on Nicotine and Tobacco Conferences.
Dr. Esposito recently has transitioned from "the bench" into a teaching setting where she may draw upon her education and research to present biomedical lectures in an upbeat, comprehendible manner. She has lectured and conducted laboratory sessions as an adjunct faculty member at Bellarmine University, Spalding University, and Galen College of Nursing.
