Community Pharmacy Practice Residency - Medica Pharmacy

  • Description:
    The community practice residency program is a structured postgraduate education training experience that will enable the resident to acquire advanced knowledge and skills in the delivery of patient care services. This twelve month program is a comprehensive community based residency dedicated to developing clinical providers of advanced patient care services in the community pharmacy setting. Pharmacy Practice at Central State Hospital

  • Description:
    This program is a well-structured postgraduate training experience that enables the resident to acquire advanced knowledge and skills in the delivery of patient care services. This twelve-month program is a comprehensive hospital residency involving clinical and administrative duties that provide opportunities for professional growth and advancement. This residency offers a variety of learning experiences from a combination of rotations at Central State Hospital (an acute psychiatric hospital), Sullivan University College of Health Sciences and associated faculty practice sites. (UofL, INCAPS/MTM). The residency is structured according to ASHP's Residency Learning System and is flexibly designed to meet the resident's expectations and allow pursuit of individualized professional goals and interests.

Pharmacy Practice at Sullivan University College of Health Sciences
The International Center for Advanced Pharmacy Services (INCAPS)

  • Description:
    The first of its kind in Louisville, Kentucky, Sullivan University College of Pharmacy (SUCOP) is proud to offer a PGY-1 Residency affiliated with the InterNational Center for Advanced Pharmacy Services (INCAPS). This program will take two residents per year. Primarily, the residents will practice with other academic-based faculty at SUCOP. The residency program is structured to align with the ASHP accreditation requirements for PGY-1 Training.

Pharmacy Practice at Floyd Memorial Hospital

  • Description:
    This is a joint program between Sullivan University College of Health Sciences and Floyd Memorial Hospital. As such it provides an excellent pharmacy practice experience with a strong academic backbone. The majority of the resident's time will be spent at Floyd Memorial Hospital. This program currently accepts one resident and is structured to align with the ASHP accreditation requirements for PGY-1 training.

Pharmacy Practice at Frankfort Regional Medical Center

  • Description:
    This residency is a collaboration between Sullivan University College of Pharmacy (SUCOP) and Frankfort Regional Medical Center. Combining an exceptional clinical pharmacy practice with a strong academic facility, residents are provided a challenging learning environment to enhance their skills. The majority of the resident's time will be spent at Frankfort Regional Medical Center located in the picturesque capital city of Kentucky. This program currently accepts one resident and is structured to align with the ASHP accreditation requirements for PGY1 training while allowing individualization of the resident's long-term goals.

Pharmacy Practice at Walgreens

  • Description:
    Walgreens Community Pharmacy Residency Program is a postgraduate training opportunity for pharmacists to enhance their skill set in the community phar-macy setting. The residency is academically affiliated and financially supported, in part, by the Sullivan University College of Pharmacy. The majority of the residency experience will be located in Louisville, KY at Walgreens pharmacies. This residency will allow the pharmacist to build on their professional skills by providing a variety of patient care services.
    Pharmacists in this setting will have a direct influence on patient outcomes through participation in patient counseling, immunization services, health screen-ings, disease state management, and Medication Therapy Management. There will be additional experiences with established HIV programs in the Louisville and southern Indiana areas. Residents will also work to develop collaboration with other area providers and community stakeholders. The pharmacist will complete a teaching certificate program and will assist in teaching opportunities and precepting experiences for the Sullivan University College of Pharmacy. The residency program graduates will be leaders in the pharmacy community and will have an active role in advancing community pharmacy practice.
    This new program is seeking accreditation from the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) and the American Pharmacists Association (APhA).
