Dr. Stephen N. Weissmueller, CPA, Ed.D, MBA

Dr. Stephen Weissmueller is a Professor of Finance and Accounting in the Graduate School and is Chairman of the Finance Department for the Graduate School. Dr. Weissmueller has taught at Sullivan University for seven years. He has had prior teaching experience at the University of Kentucky, Midway College and the American Institute of Banking.

Dr. Weissmueller is a CPA and has worked for one of the "Big Four" accounting firms and has had his own CPA practice. He worked as a CPA and in the Banking Industry for over twenty-five years and his banking experiences included positions as Senior Vice-president and Chief Financial Officer and Vice-president and Manager of Private Banking. Dr. Weissmueller also served as a member of the bank's Internal Loan Committee and was head of the ALCO and Pricing Committee. As the Chief Financial Officer, he was responsible for the operations of the bank, financial reporting and analysis as well as budgeting and forecasting. He rewrote the mainframe budgeting and forecasting model in Lotus. The Louts model provided quicker response for updating the budget and forecast. Dr. Weissmueller has also served as the manager of mergers and acquisitions and also owned companies that provided employment services, tax services and consulting services.

Dr. Weissmueller is a member of the Kentucky Society of CPA's and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). His certifications have included Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), A+ Certification, Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) and QuickBooks ProAdvisor.

Dr. Weissmueller's community services have included the following:

Dr. Weissmueller received both his undergraduate degree and doctorate degree (Ed.D) from the University of Kentucky and is MBA from Xavier University. His dissertation involved the study of cognitive load and the effects of cognitive load on novice accounting students. He is especially proud of his three children all of whom are CPA's and work for the "Big Four" accounting firms.
