Dr. Jerry Sims

Jerry Sims earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management. He continued his education by receiving a Masters of Business Administration degree in Management Information System. He expanded his education by earning a doctorate degree in Organization and Management. His career history includes several years in banking and years of experience in retail management, marketing, sales, and advertising. In addition, he served on the board of directors for CITYLIFE Youth Foundation. In most of these roles, he performed a variety of Leadership and Management functions. His career motto is to be the best in whatever he does. He began his teaching career at Sullivan University as an Adjunct Professor in January 2003 before he accepted the opportunity as full-time faculty in October 2003. Meanwhile, Dr. Jerry Sims is the Associate Dean for the College of Business Administration and Full Professor. He has served as the Department Chair of the School of Business and Technology, Director of Graduate Studies, Phi Beta Lambda advisor, member of Sigma Beta Delta International Honor Society, Co-Chairman of the Marketing/Management Advisory Board and a member of the American Management Association. Dr. Sims was appointed to the Fayette County Public Schools Board of Education Equity Council. Dr. Jerry Sims presented a paper to the Kentucky chapter of the National Black MBA Association titled: Leading to Win In The 21st Century. In addition, Dr. Sims was selected to present a paper at the Mid-West Scholars Conference in Indianapolis, Indiana. Dr. Sims is married and has 3 children. Dr. Sims has been a member of the Kentucky community for nearly 15 years and has enjoyed the journey.
