Dr. Marilyn Faulkenburg

INSTRUCTOR

Dr. Marilyn Faulkenburg, has joined Sullivan University as full time faculty in the graduate study area and teaches in the Human Resource, Management and Leadership program. Marilyn holds a BS degree from Purdue University, MA in Human Resources/Management from Webster University and an Ed.D. in Leadership Education from Spalding University. She has over 30 years of experience in business and 6 years exclusively in Human Resources.

Prior to joining Sullivan University, Dr. Faulkenburg was the Executive Director of Workforce/Economic Development at Ivy Tech Community College in Sellersburg. She was responsible for workforce training and development, grants and the apprenticeship program. Marilyn developed the Ivy Tech Center for Leadership Excellence and facilitated classes in the center. This center focuses on leadership development for manager level and above. Prior to this position, Marilyn was the Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs at Ivy Tech in Sellersburg and lead the academic programs with over a 25% in student enrollment. Marilyn has been an adjunct instructor in the School of Business at Ivy Tech Community College, at Webster University, Indiana University Southeast and at Spalding University in the Doctoral program. She is a certified facilitator for Emergenetics International and is PHR certified.

Marilyn has worked for Target stores and Horseshoe Indiana. At Target, Marilyn was a Store Team Leader and also a District Team Leader over the operations of multiple stores in southern Indiana and the Louisville metro area. At Horseshoe Indiana, Marilyn was Vice President of Human Resources and managed all aspects of Human Resources for over 2200 employees.

In the community, Marilyn has served on the Southern Indiana United Way Advisory Board, Leadership Harrison County Board, Boys and Girls Club of Harrison County Board, Harrison County United Way Success by 6 Action Committee. At the present time, Marilyn is past President for Southern Indiana Society for Human Resource Management Board and chairperson for St. Mary of the Knobs Long Range Planning Committee. She is also a member of National SHRM. Marilyn lives with her husband, David and daughter in Floyds Knobs, Indiana and enjoys boating, flower gardening, traveling and reading.
