Susan E. Day, PhD currently serves as adjunct professor with Sullivan University, Nova Southeastern University and the University of Louisville. She also works in grant development in research administration at Florida Atlantic University. She earned her doctorate degree in public administration in 1996 from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida. Her dissertation is on the relationships between race, representative bureaucracy and delinquency sanctioning in juvenile court. Dr. Day’s teaching specialization includes 18 years experience teaching graduate research methods and policy and program evaluation.
She has served as a principal investigator or co-investigator for colleges of business, nursing and urban and public affairs generating over 1.5 million dollars in external funding. She has directed or managed numerous research and evaluation projects for federal, state and local agencies including the U.S. Department of Justice, the National Institutes of Health, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the Florida Department of Elder Affairs, and the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections. Her current research focuses on the relationship between family violence, family disruption and criminal behavior across the life span, critical incident and post traumatic stress in first responders.
When she is not working, Susan enjoys spending time with her daughter, appreciating Louisville’s great food culture including the food at Winston’s and working off the calories in a variety of sports.
