The Early Childhood Education program focuses on skills involving the provision of high quality education for young children in a formal child care setting. You will also be exposed to business administration, childcare management and employee supervision. Graduates will be prepared to teach young children in an early childhood environment, move into management positions within child care establishments, or open and manage their own facility.
Sullivan’s course of study includes the classes required for the Kentucky Director’s Credential, which recognizes leadership among childcare professionals and is awarded to each student upon graduation. This credential enables Sullivan’s Early Childhood Education graduates to direct and/or own their own childcare center. Another benefit of Sullivan’s program is its Hire a Nanny program, which pairs graduates with employers.
The Early Childhood Education Associate Degree focuses on teaching:
You will earn your Kentucky Director Credential after completion of the program, and you’ll earn 300 clock hours working directly with children and families.
94 Credit Hours

Time length for program completion will vary depending upon the number of courses taken per term, developmental courses when required, transfer credit accepted, lack of continuous enrollment, etc.

I was drawn to [Sullivan’s] program because there was so much hands-on learning. It made me excited about attending the program before I had even enrolled. I loved being able to work with kids in different environments. We were able to do in home, in school, and in daycare externships. I have been a nanny on and off since I graduated in 2004 and having a degree definitely sets you apart from others applying for the same position. I was also able to earn a position as an assistant director at an ECE center because I had a degree! The one thing that I have knowledge of that some people don’t is NAEYC. We are taught the requirements for NAEYC certification in school and that is a plus when applying for a position with a center that has that certification.Professional Nanny Diploma and Early Childhood Education Associate Degree Graduate
